Hello all,
So, I am trying to decide and figure out a few things.
Going into my old 1989 Toyota Land Cruiser
I currently have two amps ( I don't want to mount the amps under the rear seat, as it traps too much heat and there is a decent amount of room under the front seats) :
1-US AMPS AXTU300C 100w x's 2 @ 4ohm
1- US AMPS AX600DE 250W x's 1 @ 4 ohm
My Head unit is a Pioneer DEH-80PRS
Front Speakers for doors are Morel Tempo 2-ways
Rear fill speakers are Hifonics 2-way 6.5's that I plan to run off of the deck power for rear channels.....
Subwoofer- undecided- looking at some TREO stuff and an old NOS TOBY 10 inch that I would have to build a box for either.... thinking about a downfire setup with a side port and mounting it in the back of the Landcruiser- but trying to keep it small and somewhat SQ and SPL.... I like rock, alternative and Heavy classical (Apocalyptica)
Here are my questions:
1. Will trying to run my setup active help my SQ with a vehicle like this without a ton of sound deadening?
2. If I decide to run active, can I utilize the TUBE amp for the 6.5 mids and use the Head unit's power for the tweeters and still be able to use the networking and time alignment to full capability? Or.... Am I better off running the set of components off of the tube amp and their included crossover and not going active?
3. Am I better off getting a very small amp to run the tweeters on and running them on their own network channel?
4. Will my rear fill speakers be time-aligned correctly if I run them off of Head Unit power for the rear channels? Will I regret these speakers? Should I run them at all or am I messing up?
5. I plan on minimal sound deadener, as the truck is actually really quiet right now with minimal road noise and no squeaks or rattles almost whatsoever.... where are my best placement points on the doors or floors?
