The vehicle is a 2010 Lexus RX450h With nav, Without Mark Levinson. this system appears to be similar to other lexus systems with front door sub woofers on one ch and mids/tweets on another ch. rear woofers and tweets on 1ch. but i've never integrated with any of them before. search yields very little for the rx's a lot for the IS's but most had ML or just wanted to add a sub.
after all this the sound quality is... not great. very difficult to tune. too much high, i dont even know whats up with the mid, midbass...ugh it's a mess
I've added:
Audio Control LC8i
Alpine PDX-4.100
Alpine PDX-1.600
JL 10w6v2
Rockford t-165s components front and rear
on the LC8i i ran front high, front sub, rear, and sub through it.
After trying multiple configurations i ended up getting the best sound with this:
on the LC8i:
Main: rear - summed and level set high
Input 2: front sub - summed and level set a little lower than the main ch
Input 3: front mid/tweet - summed but level all the way down
Input 4: Sub - Not summed
4ch amp:
gains - all the way down
running all channels off of ch1 and 2
As you can see, with this configuration we lose the ability to fade but summing just the front tweet and sub while passing the rear sounded awful. overall the system lacks depth and dynamic range.
spent hours upon hours trying different configurations with the factory eq, levels on the LC8i, crossovers on the 4ch amp, different summing. all dounded terrible. turning up the level on the factory tweeter on the lc8 was like firing needles into your ear drums.
what do you guys recommend to fix this issue? i do not have access to any RTA equipment anymore (can you recommend something cheap/simple like an application or phone app that is better than tuning blind?!)
i've heard of some other parts like a JL clean sweep but i've never had my hands on one and dont know if it is the right tool for the job. what do you think i can do for this customer? (money seems to be not much of an issue)
Here's some pictures just for fun
