Today I happened on a random article about 12 Cars That Will Go 200,000 Miles. Naturally the list consisted of only new model cars. I do wish there would be more lists of cars from all years past that have stood the reliability test instead of speculation. But anyways, how reliable has your car or cars been for you? What's been your most reliable?
My 05 Monte Carlo, and my previous 1996 Monte Carlo, have both been champs. My 96, with the slightly-less-reliable GM 3.1L engine, started to have relatively minor problems due to age and lack of repair on the previous owner's part after 180xxx miles and 14 years. There was beginning to be a bit of oil in the coolant reservoir and that was it. For a nearly 15 year old car born and raised in harsh MN weather I thought that it fared pretty well, considering that nothing else was going out on the car. Pic related, my old Monte:

Wish I still had it. :(
My 05, with the relatively famous 3.8L naturally aspirated engine, has proven since 1992 (I believe) to be a champ and routinely gets older Buicks to well past 230k miles. The only repairs my car has needed have been minor wear and tear (ball joints, coolant flush, rusted tie rods from when it was driven up north). The only issues known with my car is that it has a somewhat weak tranny that tends to go out around 50 - 110k miles on some cars (damn shitty auto trannies). At 8 years old and 85k miles it shows no signs of trouble, so crossing my fingers that I got lucky. Still runs and drives smooth as butter, though it will need new control arms soon 'cause the factory ones are all rusted. He has always run like a champ, even though I am perpetually paranoid at every little whine or creak. I'm pretty happy with the reliability of my Monte (and I'm far from the only one), which makes me all the more eager to take especially good care of it.
Current...

Those are the only two cars I've owned, both Chevy Monte Carlos. I don't think I'll be getting another Chevy ever again due to the declining overall quality in newer models though. Perhaps a pre-90s one, back when the infamous small and big blocks still ruled. I have been eyeing the new Subaru STIs though. Anyone have personal reviews of those?
Anyways, how have your cars treated you? Or should I say how have you treated them...
