Simple basic CHEAP good sounding system

So I bought a little 2000 ford escort recently as a DD to save money on gas with. This car is a beater and frankly i don't want to put a dime into it, but i miss my music...

I'm looking to put a real cheap, good sounding, basic system in it.

I'm thinking something like this. A small amp under drivers seat, and a couple of bass-ey component up front. like Image Dynamics CTX-65's maybe?. Then ill hook my iphone directly into the amp and call it DONE.

I'll leave the stock head unit in the car attached to the rear speakers in case I ever want to listen to the news or something. So just to be clear, im bypassing the head unit all together, it wont be wired to the front speakers.

To pull this off I need a small amp that will push decent power to a nice broad frequency component. In my truck i have Zapco amps, Rainbow components and a SI MKIII sub and really like the sound. So im kind of an SQ guy. Any advice?

Im open to running 2-ohm components if they can be found, to keep the amp size small... Image Dynamics used to make a set like that but it doesn't look like they do anymore...
