Odd midbass location??

Alright, so I am contemplating different options to try and go three way in my 4Runner without doing too much modification (if any) to the stock door panels. The OEM location low in the doors housed a 6x9, which is adapted with a baffle to house the 6.5" from my JBL MS-62C set. The OEM tweeter location is high on the door and the new tweeter went in the same spot.

I'd like to add a dedicated midrange and possibly go full active (might just try passive/active hybrid so I can get away with a 4 channel amp for the time being).

Option 1: Leave the midbass & tweeter in the locations they are now and hack into the door somewhere near the midway point of the midbass and tweeter, or more near the tweeter. This is obviously the least favorite option since it involves adding a hole to the door panel.

Option 2: Move the midbass to another location not in the door, and install the new midrange in it's place low on the door (doesn't seem to be the best option since it's so low and I'm not sure where I'd put the midbass).

Option 3: Move the tweeter off the door, possibly to a pod on the A-pillar (I have no dash openings except a center channel and almost no sail panel to speak of) then install the midrange into the old tweeter location high on the door. The issue here is to fit this stock tweeter location would max out the choices for midrange to 2.5" diameter and about 1.5" depth.

I've also wondered about moving the midbass to under the front seats in their own small enclosures, but didn't know if this would work at all since they would have to fire up or down meaning their sound would not be anywhere near aimed at you. I also have rear doors that house a 6.5" and could possibly fit a 7" midbass, but I'm told that's not a great location since it's starting to get rearward.

I've thought of kick panels, but the parking brake on the 4Runner is a pedal version on the drivers left kick...not to mention, I like having my dead pedal to rest my foot on :)

Option #3 seems to be the only one that makes sense, but due to the location, the midrange is forced to be very small.

Is there any other options I may be overlooking?
