Hi guys,
I have a 2007 Toyota Corolla LE and I have installed 3 HUs with the front & rear speakers via Crutchfield instructions over the years. I know very rudimentary basics on power requirements. Bridging and resistance with amps I need help with but I believe power output roughly doubles with reduced resistance (4 vs 2 ohms).
1. To date I have purchased:
a. Pioneer AVH-P3400BH HU
b. JBL MS-62C Component speakers for the front (80W RMS, 320W peak, 4 ohms)
2. I am thinking of removing the rear stock speakers and building a rear deck and using 2 Alpine SWR-823D subs (350W RMS, 1000W peak, 2 ohms I believe). I have not done this before but I am knowledgeable in woodworking.
a. Any recommendations?
b. Should I build the deck with box below the existing deck?
c. Would the existing 6x9 openings interfere with sound passage?
3. I would like to use one 4 channel amp (in trunk) to drive all four speakers. I don't want to knock people down but I want clean, fairly loud sound but am not sure what total wattage is appropriate.
a. Are the power requirements for the two sets of speakers compatible for one amp? I don't want to blow the JBLs.
b. I would like an amp recommendation. I need to spend less than $300.
c. Can I mix 4 ohm front speakers with 2 ohm subs with the same amp?
4. I will install the HU and front speakers but will have a pro do the amp, crossovers and wiring.
Many thanks for your help,
k
