I just bought a pair of hybrid clarus mids from Kustom Kar Audio in Santa Rosa about 2weeks ago from Chris.
I guess the glue the holds the surround down came unglued on about 1/4 of the mid. The other mid the glue is also coming undone around the screw hole.
Chris from Kustom Kar Audio didn't have a replacement mid so he had me go the Hi-Fi shop to have one of the mids glued. Yes it worked, but since the other started coming unglued, I was told this happens time to time. Well I've have had Seas-Dayton-Boston Acoustics-Polk auido-Anarchy mids- Image Dynamics-Phoenix Gold-Mach audio & even CDT Es line.
I have never seen anything like this before.
I was told it wasn't my fault, but I'm lost at what to do with these mids now.
I mean Chris told me he would take care of me & don't worry, Im getting frustrated with the not having back up product for replacement drivers, & having to through this situation. I bought these driver to see if Hybrid is what people say they are. I mean they have lots of midbass, but the top end is to laid back for my liking & maybe that's because of the surround being loose.
My question is if anyone bought drivers that aren't up to par & you have a shop that doesn't carry extra drivers to take care of the customer, what would you do?'i was told he's going to call Hybrid tomorrow & order new drivers for me & have them sent to my house. Well it's the holiday season and I'm not sure if I want to wait a week or so.
I was looking at the new Illusion driver which sounded good.
