Pioneer 80PRS...is it too much?

I have a 80 PRS that I bought from Amazon. I haven't installed it yet because I'm not sure it's for me. I've always had double dins with all the bells and whistles. I'd really like to get more of a SQ unit,single or double din. I really don't have any plans to run the Pioneer active,which leads to my question, will it still be a good HU even though I'm not going to run active?

I've been looking at a JVC double din( AW70bt) at amazon for the same price and I'm confused on which way to go...
