In need of Serious Help...

Hello all, this is my first post on here but heard good things about this site.

And I'll try to make this short but it maybe a little long. A couple of days ago I purchased a new 6.5 component set for myself. I decided to throw a little more money in the pot and purchased the ID XS65's(had great reviews, so i went with these). Got them BNIB, went to get them installed. Told the installer, these are expensive comp. sets please make sure my amp and everything is set great for great sound, etc. FYI, I have an old Memphis cA300-4 amp(80-125 RMS). After installation he ensured me everything was good. I left to go workout(a 30 minute drive) and was playing my music, sounded awesome from what I thought. Once I got near the gym, my right mid bass/mid-driver started to sound hollow, an echo at times, various issues. So, I went back after the gym. The installer says, hmmmm, I think your amp is bad. He said it was bad because when I turn the car on you can hear a noise or hiss/humming through my speakers. He said that shouldn't be happening. He said well the amp is clipping therefore it is bad. I said what about turning down the gain, etc. He said no. And that has also messed up your speaker. Not news I wanted to hear at all, especially after paying a premium on this set. I honestly, thought he/they should have heard this and/or made me aware of this before installing my xS65's? Right? Or even after when they supposedly, tuned the amp and made sure the speakers worked? He further inspected my speaker, so he says and states that the spider is broke. Super pissed at this moment, didn't have much time to argue as I had a Christmas party to attend. So, in order to be proactive, I say well let me just buy a new amp with better RMS ratings, etc, since this one is bad and it's clipping. So I purchase the Alpine MRX-F65, which was great CEA RMS ratings better than what I had supposedly(They recommended this as well and had good consumer reviews online). After it was installed, I listened and was deeply, I mean deeply disappointed in the sound. Now the new XS mid bass that was bad was replaced by my previous CDT mid bass for the time being. Previously, I had my volume only at 65% when I thought things were sounding great when my XS65's were in and prior to with my CDT 61a's. As of now my sound systems sound very very bad, meaning basic, sounds like a stock radio with no amp pushing it, etc. Very, very frustrated to say the least.
Was there something I did wrong, they did wrong(installation, new amp, etc)suggestions moving forward? Please help, I may need to find a new car audio home. Should I go get a second opinion, elsewhere and say what? Also get my Memphis amp tested to see if it is in fact bad?
