Need help for first time active with MS-8.

I had another post asking for advice about buying Zapcos and trying my hand at an active set up, but I've decided to keep my existing JL amps and buy and MS-8 for DSP.

System:

HU: Kenwood Excelon DNX8120
JL 300/4v2: mids and tweeters
JL 500/1v2: sub
JL 13TW5: sub
Rainbow Germaniums:
JBL MS-8

Please tell me if this is correct. I'm going to run each channel of my 300/4 to power an individual front speaker. Channel 1- front left mid, channel 2- front left tweeter, channel 3- front right mid and channel 4- front right tweeter......correct? The Rainbow passive crossovers will come out and the rears will run off the HU, if any at all. Is that an active set up so far?

Part 2: The 300/4 has frequency settings for the channels, where should those be set if the MS-8 is doing the tuning? My Kenwood HU has full EQ, TA and a bunch of so called "imaging" settings. Should the EQ on the HU be set to flat, and all the other settings turned off?

Part 3: I assume the MS-8 goes in line before the amps? So HU to MS-8 via RCA's, then RCA's to amps and then amps to speakers.

I installed all of my other equipment myself, so I have total confidence I can install this, I'm just trying to educate myself on setting up an active system properly. Please let me know if I'm missing something or am way off on my set up.
