The simple question would be that, when making ur own kick pannels, should they be a sealed enclosure when putting components in??
Ive got a 98 Cherokee XJ & the glass is only 2" from the door. Now i can put 2 layers of MDF on the door to space em out, but ur still gonna have the glass right behind the speaker when the windows down all the way. SO, my solution is that instead of going thru the whole door prep, deadening, baffle routine, why not just stick them in a set of homemade kick pannels??
Ive never done any fiberglass work & i dont feel like paying the $150 for pladtic kick panels, so my build would be something more like MDF & or some PVC which would be perfect for a nice sealed enclosure similar to these pics:

Oh & the components im leaning heavy towards are Image Dynamics CTX-6.5cs Components, hence the large magnets & depth of the speakers making the door installation a bit harder.
