I drive a 03 altima, which im trying to build a small system for. This is the non-bose model. I'm not looking for insane SQ or SPL. I just want a better than stock sounding system. I have an amp that does 350 rms at 4 ohms. Being I want a small system that wont require insane electrical upgrades, this is the power I plan to use. I also have a 2 channel amp powering some incriminator audio components.
I need my trunk. I need to get to the spare tire if needed, I need to be able to hold boxes, etc. This is why I need to keep the box small.
Like I said, I dont want crazy bass, just added low end that will keep up with the rap and rock I play. My budget for a sub is $150. I'd like to use a ported enclosure also.
The SA 8 v2 is a little much but I can afford the v1 model. I'm also considering the alpine type r 8. I'd consider maybe getting 2 alpine 8's, but would it be worth the extra cost if I only give them 150w each?
What do you guys suggest for my situation?
side note: from an old build, I have an ssa dcon 12. It's too big to run ported, as even 1.75 cubes I feel would be a large enclosure. I can put it in a 1 cube sealed box but everything I read said the lower end is not good and the sub really want to be in a nice ported box.
