Does anyone use an indash preamp in addition to the ms8? Why would you want to one might ask? I currently am using an ms8 with a stock head unit. I would like to have a quick way to tweak on the run without using the ms8 remote and display. I'm old and can't multitask like some of you youngsters of the smart phone era. Being able to use a rotary eq dial, volume knob, and switching sources with a push button seems more comfortable to me. Also it would mean that I could connect another source prior to the ms8 like a ipod or tablet that could be controlled with above mentioned knobs (at least the volume and eQ). Again i would have to scroll menus or keep the ipod in my hand while driving to adjust the volume. I know i can tweak with the stock hu, but only when using the cd or radio. I was thinking about selling the ms8 and buying an active capable head unit, but i'm trying to keep a stock looking appearance, and would like to have at least a double din source. There's not a great selection of active friendly double dins out there. Just thinking.... Anyone with suggestions?
