New sub setup for 04 Ford SCREW

Hi all. Looking to change up my subwoofer setup. I currently have a Rockford Fosgate R1000-D amp (PUNCH Subwoofers - P3SD210 - Rockford Fosgate®) pushing two Rockford Fosgate shallow P3SD210 subwoofers (PUNCH Subwoofers - P3SD210 - Rockford Fosgate®). The subs are mounted in a Atrend A372-10 sealed box (FORD EXTENDED or SUPER CREW CAB 2004 & UP). This is wired up in a 2 ohm configuration.

While this current setup is ok I'd like something with more spl. I've got a rear seat lift kit installed. I'll be building a box for whatever sub/s I go with. I'm wondering if a single 12" sub in a ported box would better suit my spl need. The new box's subwoofer mounting depth will probably be around 7" and it's volume could be about 2 cubic feet max. It would be preferrable to keep the amp I have and use it in my new setup.
