I removed my OEM kick panels & vacuum formed an identical set. I put the OEM set aside, & my new vacuum formed kick panels can now be used to house a set of speakers.
I will be retaining my dead pedal. My kick panels will be IB. I really want to remove the wiring so I can vent the kick panels, but I'm not sure where to relocate the wiring?
Kicks are pretty small. 5.25" would fit, but not sure if it's going to be muffled. Try a 4"?
These are mids for a 2-way front stage btw.
Here is the mid in the 5.25" version: Dayton ND140-4 5-1/4" Aluminum Cone Midbass Driver 4 Ohm 290-216
Here is the mid in the 4" version:Dayton Audio ND105-4 4" Aluminum Cone Midbass Driver 4 Ohm 290-212
Also, for all you kick panel users. Was resonance an issue within the door panel? ...assuming you only deadened the back of the kicks & floor.
For those of who you made a pod off your OEM kicks, how'd you retain the texture? Take a closer look at the rest of your OEM trim. -It's all textured.
