Hello, I haven't posted on here, but I have spent countless hours reading and researching here trying to put together a system for my 2007 Mustang. I have had 2 back surgeries so therefore I won't be able to do the installation, but will have a very reputable shop do it for me. These are the components I have chosen...
HU: Pioneer AVH-P4400BH
Front components: JL Audio C5-653 3ways
Amp for comps: Zapco Ref 350.2
Subs: 3 JL Audio 10W3v3-4 to be placed in a sealed box, facing foward from behind the back seats ran parrelled to a 1.33 ohm load.
Amp for subs MBQuart DSC2000.1 I had leftover from my last system.
The big amp is the only thing used I am using, everything else is new. I want a loud, but clean sound but am not worried about winning any SQ comps. Doors will be deadened but not the rest of the car. Comps will be in factory door locations with the 6.5" midbass where the factory 8" sub was, mids and tweets where the factory 6x8's were in the door. No rear fill planned at this time.
I originally wanted to do an active 3way front, but didnt really have the room for 3-4 amps in the trunk as I need the space for other stuff. Does this selection seem like it will meet my needs ? Again I just want loud and more importantly CLEAN. I mostly listen to classic rock, classic country and occasionally rap. I like to crank it up and cruise the country roads out here though and dont want anything overheating.
I will also be installing a second battery in the trunk per my shop's recommendation. I have never used a second battery, but they seem to think I will need it. I purchased the wire from the DIYMA store during the fire sale. 1/0 oversized for power and ground, and 12 gauge speaker wire. I will be using either a set of fosgate or monster rca cables for the sub amp I had laying around, and the symbilink cable for the Zapco amp.
So lets hear it, how good or bad did I do in my choices ?
