Hello everyone. This is my first post. I have a cheap set up (my first) for my single cab 2008 dodge ram. I have a kicker 10c104 sub and a dual xpa2500 amp. Im using my stock head unit. I was wondering if my amp is so bad that i could turn the gain up quite a bit (75%) and it wouldn't blow my sub. It hit really hard at 75% and i liked it but i turned it down to 25% because i've heard if the gain is to high on certain sub/amp combinations the sub will blow. The amp is bridged. Here are the specs.
sub
10" 4-ohm subwoofer, injection-molded polypropylene cone, ribbed foam surround, power handling: 50-150 watts RMS, peak power handling: 300 watts, frequency response: 30-500 Hz, sensitivity: 86.2 dB.
amp
2-channel car amplifier, 50 watts RMS x 2 at 4 ohms (75 watts RMS x 2 at 2 ohms), 150 watts RMS x 1 in bridged mode (4-ohm stable in bridged mode, variable high- and low-pass filters, variable bass boost (0-12 dB at 45 Hz), class AB output design
thanks guys.
