EDIT: MY TITLE IS OFF, I AM CREATING A SEPARATE POST FOR THAT PART. SORRY FOR THE CONFUSION.
Hello DIYMA,
I am Broseph Jones, and this is my first post. I am a car audio install noob.
I have a 2004 Mercury Sable LS that I just bought.
I believe it has the Mach Audio System - however I am not sure.
It has Mach tweeters in the pillars but I cannot seem to find any sort of RCU in the trunk (some Googling tells me that there should be one?)
The previous owner had a subwoofer in the trunk and I see some wires in the trunk. There is a red cable with a spade connector at the end that I assume to be the POSITIVE power going to the battery (I am 99 percent certain of this, as there is a fuse box near the battery with a 50A fuse.)
There is also a brown cable of the same gauge, also with a spade connector in the trunk, the other end of which is bolted to the trunk floor. I am certain that this is the ground wire. Then there is a green, much smaller wire. I am not sure where is terminates yet, I assume this to be the remote turn on.
I took my Kenwood KAC-1502S amplifier, connected the brown cable to GND, the red cable to the power IN BATT and the green cable to P. CON. I then connected my Rockford Fosgate 12" in bridge mode to the amplifier.
I turned on the car however the amplifier is not powering up.
Any ideas why? I made sure that the Red cable is properly connected and that there is a fuse in the fusebox. I am pretty certain that I connected the amplifier properly...
My guess is that the remote turn-on is the issue but your thoughts are appreciated.
