Hello again,
I have a 2004 Mercury Sable LS with the Mach Audio System.
The factory head unit is a radio and climate control fused together.
I assume that I can not just rip this out without disabling my climate control.
I have read something about integration units but I have no idea what that is.
Is there any way to disable JUST the radio part of this factory head unit and install an aftermarket head unit somewhere else (i was thinking in the little storage compartment or in the center console even) ???
Or is it perhaps just removing the antenna and wire connectors from the stock unit and routing those connections to the aftermarket? How would I power the aftermarket if this is the case?
I already spent decent money on an alpine head unit, 12 inch sub and an amplifier and don't want to have to spend a lot more on professional installation or some 150 dollar integration unit...
Any ideas?
