Hi all gurus! Before i proceed with my question/s, just would like to share my current setup and future upgrade as show below:
Current Setup:
(1) HU : Clarion DXZ956MC
Built in X-Over:
High HPF: 630Hz-20KHz
Mid LPF: 630Hz-10KHz
Mid HPF: 25Hz-10Khz
Sub/W LPF: 25Hz-10Khz
Sub/W HPF: 16Hz-250Hz
(2) Midbass: DLS R6A 6.5" (50Hz-5KHz)
(3) Tweeter: Vifa NE19VTS (816Hz-25KHz)
(4) DLS X-Over: Crossover point 4500Hz
(5) Subwoofer: Blaupunkt Velocity VRB 10.1 Driven by Altec Lansing ALA 200
(6) Blaupunkt VRB 1002: 2 Channel amp driving the hybrid component
To upgrade
(1) Tang Band W3-881 (100Hz-20KHz)
(2) 4 Channel Amp (TBA)
My question/s:
(1) If I replace my 2 channel to 4 channel amp, is it possible for me to run the hybrid component passive and the midrange (TB W3) run active?
(2) Or should I run the midrange (TB W3) passive with the Vifa while the DLS R6A to run active? (Considering that I replace my 2 channel amp to 4 channel amp)
The reason being, 3 way passive crossover is hard to come by and if they do it's gonna cost a bomb! Similar reason for not adding a processor due to the price.
Looking forward for your expert advise.
