Additional info:

I purchased this amp in 2004 but sold my 4Runner soon after and never got around to installing it. I did a ton of research and decided it was one of the best 5 channel models available at the time for my needs so was reluctant to sell in the hopes I'd have eventually have an opportunity to use it. However my current vehicle is a VW GTI which doesn't have enough room and I'd like someone to enjoy this amp rather than it continue sitting in my closet.

It's still in the original box and has never been turned on though I don't have any way of testing the unit. I guarantee it works and will accept a return with refund if any problems arise when first powering it up, as long as you do so within a few months. As you can see from the photos below, it's in excellent cosmetic condition even if the packaging has seen better days. Besides some fingerprints from inspection there is one little ding which I circled but it honestly isn't noticeable. The camera flash also shows every speck of dust and makes the chrome look less polished than it really is.

I'd guess most of you didn't know Viper ever made audio equipment and it certainly was a short-lived product line so you won't come across this amp many more times, especially unused. They're a division of DEI and the 1100.5 was nearly identical to their Directed Audio 1200/5 model. It seems like the Viper has less power from the numbers but every spec is identical besides it having a better variable bass EQ boost from 0 to 12db rather than a single 8db boost on the Directed.

I suppose they were trying to capitalize on brand recognition of the Viper name but they already had PPI, Orion and a/d/s so there was no need for yet another car audio branch in the company. So don't think the line was discontinued from a lack of quality, it simply wasn't differentiated or marketed well enough.

The Directed/Viper Audio amps were built very solid, running cool and usually under-rated quite a bit. The 1100.5 has enough power and active crossovers to run an entire system which makes for a simpler and cleaner install. For those who need more sub wattage you can slave a Viper d600.1 monoblock for up to 1200W RMS. There happens to be one on ebay right now though it comes "as is" since the seller can't test it. I doubt anyone is going to buy it right away so maybe try talking him down in price.

As for this amp, I'm not in a big hurry to sell so will probably hold at the asking price. For another $25 I'll throw in 20 feet of unused 0/1 gauge Audiopipe power cable with fuse and distro block along with 35 feet of 4 gauge, rca with embedded remote wire, more remote wire, speaker wire, another fuse, plugs, zip ties and tubing, all of which is new in a box. You may not need everything but I want to get it out of my storage so hopefully there are enough useful items to grab the lot.

Here's a link to the manual followed by all the 1100.5 specs:

With 500 watts of 4 channel class A/B amplifier combined with a whopping 600 watt, 1 ohm stable class D subwoofer channel, the hybrid design 1100.5 is stronger than most two amp systems. Its on-board crossovers and filters give you perfect control over any system, and if for some reason 600 watts just isn’t enough, you can add a d600.1 for an extreme 1200 total sub watts, using Directed’s proprietary master/slave feature for bridged or synced gain operation.

• Dual high-speed MOSFET switching power supplies and complimentary bipolar outputs on 1-4 with a high current MOSFET output on the sub channel
• Thermal, DC offset, reverse polarity, short circuit and over/under voltage protection with status LED
• Easily accessed top-mounted controls for system tuning located under illuminated Viper snake logo
• Built-in high performance, dual continuously variable 12 dB/octave 2-way active crossovers on channels 1-4
• Continuously variable 24 dB/octave low-pass crossover on sub channel
• Variable 0-12 dB bass EQ function
• Remote subwoofer level control
• 2/4/6 channel input for full access to source or processor output functions
• Master/slave function allows external synced bridged or parallel operation with an added model d600.1 class D mono amp
• Buffered stereo full-range rca output jacks
• Gold-plated power and speaker screw-block plugs and rca connectors ensure maximum signal transfer
• Rugged one-piece extruded heat sink finished with injection-molded mounting feet
