It's 3:45am and I can't sleep because of this conundrum:
So for the most part I'm quite happy with my setup providing I not not fiddle with the left & right eq at all is seems. One day last week I managed to not fiddle for one entire day, hopefully someday it will be two consecutive days...whoah!
I know it could sound better if I could get a little more balance so my question is:
When doiing the left and right tuning is it common or uncommon to have a difference of up to 8db?
What is the cause of this? Simple deflections, install and so forth?
To remedy this is it also common or uncommon to have asymmetrical crossover settings? Whatever sounds best right?
Details if necessary: My scan-speak tweets are in the a-pillars on axis. Hertz hl-70 in the kicks aiming at the opposite side, low in the door with sub in the cargo area. I drive a paid off toyota matrix completely deadened. Doors, floor, ceilin, cargo and as much of the firewall I could access. 51db on the highway:guitarist:
I hope I have supplied enough info. I should try and sleep now. Hopefully when I wake there will be a answer waiting for me under the xmas tree.
g'night and have a pleasant tomorrow.
