I got some problems with various midbass speaker I've tried in my Civic.
Running a MiniDSP into separate amps. Amp powering my midbass speakers is 150x2 bridged. I've tried two different 6.5" speakers, and they both have large peaks in the 800Hz to 2.2KHz range... but both have peaks a 1.25k, 1.5k and somewhere at 1.76k to the point I have to EQ those down by 12-16dB or so..
I've run out of (12 per channel) parametric EQs trying to correct the speakers, and they still sound harsh and piercing at some frequencies.
1st midbass speakers were the woofers from a sony component set, the XSGTX1620S
2nd midbass speakers are a pair of MCM 6.5 drivers, 4ohm version
MCM Audio Select 6 1/2" Woofer with Poly Cone and Rubber Surround 50W RMS at 8ohm | 55-2970 (552970) | MCM Audio Select
The tweeters are not the problem... BG Neo3 PDR-W
Started to dynamat the doors. The midbass speakers are mounted with MDF spacers in the stock location of the factory speaker
Do I need to save up and buy some better speakers, or is this a door related problem?
